Description
Weld-On® 28 is a clear 3-component reactive acrylic cement with medium syrup-like consistency. It polymerizes at room temperature, forming high strength joints within a few hours and resists the effects of weathering, but may exhibit slight yellowing in especially harsh conditions. Where retention of clarity is required, Weld-On 40 is recommended.
This product meets Military Spec A-8576C Type II.
SUBSTRATE RECOMMENDATIONS
Weld-On 28 is exceptional on acrylics, including cell cast, continuous cast, extruded, cross-linked and molded parts. It also bonds acrylics (PMMA) to polyester (PET), cellulose acetate butyrate (CAB), polystyrene and other materials.
BONDING RECOMMENDATIONS
Weld-On 28’s high strength has many structural applications when used on acrylics and other plastics. Ideal for bonding:
- Acrylic to fabric-acrylic impregnates used in aircraft canopy construction
- Laminating work
- Wet lay-up work
